Mothers' Day Message from US District Superior, Fr. John Fullerton

Source: District of the USA

As you know, May is the month dedicated to our Blessed Mother. As such, we should turn to her this month and ask for her intervention on our behalf.

With Our Lady in mind, have we considered motherhood and what it entails?

Some of you know Cardinal Mindszenty, who suffered in a Communist prison, but who wrote a whole book on motherhood. A famous quote of his is:

The most important person on earth is a mother. She cannot claim the honor of having built Notre Dame Cathedral. She need not. She has built something more magnificent than any cathedral—a dwelling for an immortal soul, the tiny perfection of her baby's body. The angels have not been blessed with such a grace. They cannot share in God's creative miracle to bring new saints to Heaven. Only a human mother can. Mothers are closer to God the Creator than any other creature; God joins forces with mothers in performing this act of creation. What on God's good earth is more glorious than this: to be a mother?

As we approach Mother’s Day in America, let us reflect on where we would be without Our Lady. Where would we be without the mothers of St. Pius X and Archbishop Lefebvre?!

Especially in the modern world, mothers often must bear the burden of scorn for their generosity in having large families. As far as we can, the Society helps mothers by staffing schools, counseling families, and sending priests around the country to offer mass and the sacraments.

In honor of your mother or grandmother, may I ask you to please make a special offering to help the Society to continue supporting Tradition in the Church? You may do so by clicking on the following link.

In Honor of Mothers >>

If you cannot make a gift at this time, please still send the names of your family’s mothers to us at [email protected]. Just add the subject line “Mothers Mass 2022” at the top. As a token of my gratitude, I will personally be offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass for all your mothers.

In the meantime, please offer prayers for our continued success in supporting the Church and restoring Tradition. I am grateful for your support and prayers.

Sincerely yours in the Blessed Mother,

Fr. John Fullerton
