“The salvation of many souls hangs upon the quality of our gift of self.”

Watch: Interview with Fr. McFarland about Vocations Retreats >>

As the modern world daily strays further from God, the need for holy priests and religious becomes increasingly urgent. Millions of souls are lost because they lack the sacraments, Catholic teaching, charitable works of all kinds, and the prayers and sacrifices of those dedicated entirely to God. Unfortunately, relatively few, even from privileged traditional Catholic families, pursue these sublime states of life. Although it is undoubtedly a complex problem, confusion about the nature of “vocations” and failure to be generous with God are two of the most common obstacles preventing young people from giving themselves more completely to God.

The vocations retreats aim at alleviating these problems. They are intended only for those seriously considering the priesthood or religious life. The retreatants will follow a modified version of the five-day Ignatian exercises focused on providing them with the requisite knowledge and fostering the supernatural dispositions to enable them to make the best possible choice. Daily consultation with a priest, as well as the possibility for continued contact after the retreat, will facilitate the making and keeping of good resolutions.

The men's retreat will be in Winona, MN on July 8-13 >>

The ladies' retreat will be  in Phoenix, AZ on July 22-27 >>
