Fr. Gruner: Requiescat in pace

Source: District of the USA

We announce the funeral for Fr. Nicholas Gruner: May 9.

Bishop Bernard Fellay, the SSPX's Superior General, will be offering for the funeral of Fr. Nicholas Gruner a Pontifical Requiem Mass at 9:30am on Saturday, May 9. It will be held at the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls (6815 Stanley Avenue, Ontario), Canada. The burial rites will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Ft. Erie (Stonemill Road, Ontario).

Popularly known as the "Fatima Priest", Fr. Nicholas Gruner (b. 1942) passed away during the evening of April 29, 2015 while working at his apostolate to spread awareness about the message of Our Lady of Fatima.

Fr. Gruner dedicated many years of apostolic work to have Our Lady's requests known and in particular, the Consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart fulfilled.

It is unfortunate that some voices have posthumously re-asserted the false charge that Fr. Gruner lacked incardination, an accusation that was refuted long ago as noted by Christopher Ferrara in a recent piece published at Catholic Family News.

We ask all of our readers to please pray for the repose of the soul of Fr. Nicholas Gruner. May he soon be received by Our Lady into the Beatific Vision of the Triune God.

May he rest in peace.
