The SSPX's position that the Second Vatican Council has errors has once again been vindicated—and this time by a bishop in good standing.
Bishop Athanasius Schneider, the auxiliary bishop of Astana in Kazakhstan, has made some important critiques of the Second Vatican Council during a recent interview conducted by Michael Voris of ChurchMilitantTV.
Though this is not the first time he has stated the documents of Vatican II require clarification, His Excellency argues that the problem goes beyond the faulty interpretations of the Council and lie in the dangerous ambiguity of the texts themselves.
While he may not go as far as the SSPX in his criticism, the fact that a bishop of the Church is calling for a more honest assessment of Vatican II is a welcome development.
