What began just last October 24, came to fruition in two steps on Ascension Thursday and four days later at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy in Walton, Kentucky.

In a little over seven months, three beautiful bells went from potentiality to reality thanks to some generous benefactors.

A visit from Mr. Philippe Paccard of the world-renowned Paccard Bell Foundry in Annecy, France, started the ball rolling.  Our sister house in Massena, New York,  had already benefited from this company's professional expertise in 2017,  when the District Superior, Reverend Father Wegner, blessed three melodious bells that were hoisted into the newly-completed chapel bell tower.

Three months after the initial visit to Kentucky,  the Paccard company was already filming at their foundry in France, a traditional priest blessing the molten metal as it was being poured into the custom-made molds for "Our Lady of the Sacred Heart", "Mary Dominic" and "Mary Joseph".

By May the shining threesome had been shipped across the Atlantic, transferred to a train and finally delivered to our parking lot in a large truck.  They arrived in time to be blessed on Ascension Thursday following a Solemn High Mass across the street at Our Lady of the Assumption Church during which the sixth grade students made their Solemn Communion (hence the girls in white gowns at the bell ceremony).  Once again we were  honored with the presence of  Father Wegner who performed the ceremony.  Unfortunately, Father had to leave Walton just days before the bells reached their final destination: the handsome tower constructed for them whence they will call the Sisters, children and friends with their golden tones.
