On the morning of September 16, 2018, during the 10:00 high Mass, Fr. Álvaro Calderón, assistant director of the Seminary of Our Lady Coredemptrix in La Reja (Argentina), gave the cassock to seven first-year (Spirituality) seminarians.
In his sermon, the celebrant spoke to the seminarians of the love for the priesthood and detachment from the world that the cassock signifies. This sober ecclesiastical garb shows their consecration to God.
There are seven seminarians in the class: 3 Brazilians, 2 Argentinians, 1 Spaniard and 1 Mexican.
The ceremonies of the tonsure, the minor orders and the sub-diaconate will take place in less than one month, on October 6. These orders, each a step towards the Catholic priesthood, will be conferred by Bishop Bernard Fellay, auxiliary bishop and General Counselor of the Society of St. Pius X.
