A new SSPX school is being built in Albuquerque, New Mexico!

On February 15, 2016, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the new building of Nuestra Senora La Conquistadora Academy, the parish school of Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The chapel's rector, Fr. Patrick Crane, addressed the academy students, staff, directors, parents, and benefactors, exhorting them to express their thanks to the academy’s benefactors and to always keep them in their prayers. The students were reminded that, although they will not be physically constructing the new classrooms, they must support the effort with their prayers.

After Fr. Crane blessed the ground, many eyes anxiously looked on as Fr. Crane and long-time pastor, Fr. Ronald Bibeau, started the excavation process by spading their shovels into the ground where the new school building is to be built.

The academy’s educational staff was very pleased to finally see the official kick-off of the new construction after so many trials. The new classrooms will be the happy home of the eager students and will provide much needed room for the noble work of education.

At the close of the ceremony, all present sung the Ave Regina Caelorum in trust and gratitude to Our Lady.
