Christian men and women: if you thirst for holiness, this might be the retreat for you!
St. Ignatius Retreat House in Ridgefield, Connecticut is announcing that its Spiritual Life Retreat—originally scheduled for just men—is now a mixed retreat, and so open to women as well!
The Spiritual Life Retreat will be held from October 12-17 and given by Dominican priest and seasoned retreat master, Fr. Albert.
The retreat is called the “Spiritual Life” because its central theme is the birth and growth of the life of divine grace in the soul.
In a series of instructions, Fr. Albert will preach on the subjects of Original Sin, the Redemption, grace, the Theological Virtues, and the Gifts of the Holy Ghost.
In another set of explanations, Father will also describe in detail the delicate mechanism for the development of this divine life according to the traditional spiritual doctrine of the Three Ways (purgative, illuminative and unitive).
Also to be discussed are the different means of sustaining and increasing this life of grace, such as: confession, assistance at Mass, Holy Communion, mental prayer, the Divine Office, and devotion to Our Lady.
