The purpose of the camp is to provide an environment in which the boys are able to learn more about their Catholic Faith, in particular, how to live it, and to help form natural virtue upon which supernatural virtue is built. All camp activities will be geared around this purpose. These ends will be greatly aided by daily Mass and opportunities for Confession and Catechism. The camp centers on fraternal charity and Catholic cheerfulness. Our aim is that the boys will leave camp with a greater love for these virtues, greater love of Our Lord and will generously and more joyfully live their Catholic Faith on a daily basis. There will be hiking, singing, sporting activities, and arts and crafts. The camp also provides an opportunity for boys to form friendships with other Catholic boys.
St Aloysius Retreat House is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains outside of Los Gatos, California, approximately 30 minutes from the San Jose airport and 10 minutes outside of Los Gatos town proper. It is situated on 24 acres of beautiful, wooded property, with a swimming pool, basketball court, archery range, and dining hall. Campers stay in enclosed cabins along two hillsides. Great care is taken by the Director to assign campers to cabins.
