- August 18, 1970 letter of Bishop Francois Charrerie of Lausanne, Geneva and Fribourg approving establishment of an international seminary in his diocese.
- November 1, 1970 letter of Bishop Charrerie approving the Statutes of the Society of St. Pius X and its erection as a "pious union".
- February 18, 1971 letter of Cardinal John Wright, Prefect of the Congregation of the Clergy praising the "wisdom" of the SSPX's Statutes and its work in forming priests, and giving the Holy See's official approval to the priestly society as a religious congregation of the Roman Catholic Church.
