Twenty-three priests were ordained this summer in the seminaries of the Society of Saint Pius X.
Ecône: 12 Priests
On June 29, 2017, at the seminary Saint Pius X of Ecône (Switzerland), Bishop Alfonso de Galarreta ordained 12 new priests for the Society: eleven French and one Spaniard.
Zaitzkofen: 2 Priests
On July 1, 2017, at the Seminary of the Sacred Heart in Zaitzkofen (Germany), Bishop Bernard Tissier de Mallerais ordained two new priests for the Society of St. Pius X: a German and a Czech.
Dillwyn: 9 Priests
On July 7, 2017, on the feast of Sts. Cyril and Methodius, and first Friday of the month, at the seminary of St. Thomas Aquinas in Dillwyn (United States), Bishop Bernard Fellay, Superior General of the Society, ordained nine new priests, all Americans.
SSPX in the World
The SSPX forms the aspirants to the priesthood in six international seminaries, located in Switzerland, Germany, the United States, France, Argentina, and Australia.
The SSPX priests now number 635; they are assisted by 117 professed brothers and 79 Oblate sisters. Divided into 190 houses on six continents, they are assisted by some twenty communities of Sisters of the Society of St. Pius X and work with several priestly and religious communities faithful to the Tradition of the Church.
