AVRILLE, FRANCE
11-17-2011
This past weekend,
Bishop Tissier de Mallerais conferred the order of
subdeacon to three of the clerical friars at the
Dominican monastery in Avrille, France, a first for the
community!
Amongst the new
subdeacons was American Sean Boyle (in religion, Br.
Terence) from
St.
Jude's Church in Eddystone (Philadelphia), PA.
Br. Terence is the third American at Avrille to have
pronounced his perpetual vows.
Following is a
translation of the announcement made by the SSPX French
District's website,
La Porte Latine:
Subdiaconate ordinations at the Friary of La Haye aux
Bonshommes (Avrille France)
On Saturday, November
12th, the feast of the "Dominican All Saints' Day"
(feast of all the Dominican Saints), Bishop Tissier de
Mallerais conferred the order of subdeacon to three
Dominican friars at La Haye aux Bonshommes:
In his sermon, His
Excellency exhorted the new subdeacons to be an example
to others by their holy life, and to be vigilant "sentinels"
(an allusion to the prayers of ordination), in keeping
the purity of the Faith at a time "when darkness has
invaded the magisterium of the Church."
