The Society of Saint Pius X Now Has 675 Priests

The June 2020 ordinations saw 16 new priests ordained for the Society of Saint Pius X: 6 French, 4 American, 1 German, 1 Austrian, 1 Canadian, 1 Italian, 1 Polish, 1 Swiss. As of July 1, the priestly society founded by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre (1905-1991) thus has 3 bishops and 672 priests.

The Fraternity also numbers 138 professed brothers and 76 Oblate sisters who work under the leadership of the Superior General, Fr. Davide Pagliarani. In addition, there are the Sisters of the Society of Saint Pius X and the Missionary Sisters of Jesus and Mary.

Founded on November 1, 1970, the Society of Saint Pius X will celebrate its 50 years of existence next fall. On September 24, the remains of its founder will be solemnly transferred from the seminary vault to the crypt of the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, in Ecône, Valais, Switzerland.
