A request for prayers for two priests in Phoenix, one killed and one injured.

This morning's news featured the tragic report of a priest’s murder at the Fraternity of St. Peter's Mater Misericordiae Mission in Phoenix, Arizona.

During a burglary of the rectory, Fr. Kenneth Walker (the associate pastor) was shot and killed and Fr. Joseph Terra (the pastor) was critically injured. Currently no suspect has been found, though Fr. Terra is reportedly in stable condition.

While the priests of the Society of St. Pius X were not acquainted with these Fraternity priests, nevertheless, we are compelled by the bond of the priesthood to mourn the sad loss of Fr. Walker.

In this spirit, we offer our condolences to Fr. Kenneth Walker’s family and his religious congregation. We ask our faithful to offer their prayers for the repose of his soul: requiescat in pace.

We also recommend to your prayers the recovery of Fr. Joseph Terra.
