As 2017 draws to a close, the United States District of the Society of Saint Pius X is concluding its more than 2 year-long pilgrimage of the statue of Our Lady of Fatima.
This pilgrimage of the Fatima statue began on March 25, 2015, the Feast of the Assumption. On December 8, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, the statue will make her final visit at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Walton, Kentucky. In order to give Our Lady a worthy celebration, the SSPX is holding a district-wide novena for the Immaculate Conception.
Though many of you cannot be present on December 8 for the final visit of Our Lady of Fatima’s statue, Father J. Wegner, District Superior of the SSPX requests all the faithful to participate in a Novena of Preparation to the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
This event also presents a chance for all of the faithful attached to the chapels of the SSPX in the United States to unite in a common cause of honoring the mother of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ while supplicating her to see the Church through these trying times.
Only through grace from above can we hope to persevere and see, to cite Pope St. Pius X’s motto, “all things restored in Christ.”
As we have previously announced, families throughout the District are welcome to join the celebration in the form of their childrens' artwork and poetry. Each student may submit their original work - with the theme of Fatima for the art contest, and one of the titles of Our Lady from the litany for the poetry contest - for an opportunity to gain a prize.
Submissions must be received at the District House by December 1, 2017 to be considered - please consider mailing times when encouraging your students or children.
Would you like your prayer intentions to be remembered every day in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass?
While Our Lady of Fatima Pilgrim Statue is visiting SSPX chapels and schools, a daily Mass will be offered for the success of the apostolate and all the intentions you wish to entrust to her.
