The teaching Dominican Sisters of the Holy Name of Jesus are opening a new school in September 2017. Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy is situated in Walton, Kentucky, the region that was the cradle of the Dominican Order in the United States.
The Sisters have been preparing for this since 2014, when they began helping in the elementary grades of Assumption Academy. Today they are taking a new step: the school that is growing fast is going to become a girls’ school belonging to the congregation of Fanjeaux. It will accept students from kindergarten to the seventh grade for this year.
Walton is 20 minutes away from the Cincinnati airport, on the banks of the Ohio River.
