This year's confirmations marked the first Pontifical High Mass at Our Lady of Assumption Church since the church's consecreation in 2011. Bishop Bernard Tissier de Mallerais confirmed 41 persons. The Pontifical High Mass followed. The vestments were completed just days before the ceremony with the bishop's throne built specifically for this occasion. The assistance of three deacons from the Seminary for the ceremony (Rev. Mr. Brueggemann and Rev. Mr. Torzala are from Walton) added to the beauty of the ceremony.
The Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of Fatima arrived in the evening of June 10th and was followed conferences and Mass. All-night adoration before the Statue took place as well. Beginning with a High Mass in honor of Our Lady, Saturday was filled with several conferences, confessions, and the Personal Act of Consecration according to St. Louis de Montfort. This solemn event was crowned by a candlelight rosary procession later in the evening. Nearly 300 people holding candles united their voices together in prayer to Our Lady in reparation for the blasphemies against her Immaculate Heart, and that she will have mercy upon her children. All in alll, the weekend was a wonderful testament of faith that drew much attention, even from the local news, which wrote a detailed article about this visit and the importance of the Fatima message.
